Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends soul gospel jazz and R&B with a distinctive mix. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway up to The Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine has been born Denise White. She is now a resident of Atlanta the place she was raised is Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began in the church where she sang and was a pianist. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music in the Atlanta's R&B scene. In 2005, she was employed to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing she asked Sunshine to be part of the Dreamgirls production at the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to sing as part of the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
