Nancy Wilson is a Grammy Award award-winning jazz musician. Her birth date was 20th February 1937 in the city of Chillicothe, Ohio to Olden Wilson who was a worker at the ironworks as well as Lillian Ryan, a former domestic employee. Nancy's very first Dot Records recording was made while she was in the Big Band of Carolyn Club. Cannonball adderley encouraged her to move to New York in order to increase her fame. The city she went to was The Big Town, New York in 1959. Her agent heard her speak in The Blue Morocco Night Club, Boston Road, The Bronx and she then signed her contract. Within a month of her arrival to New York, she was in the city. He obtained a contract for with Capitol records in 1960, and she debuted the following year by releasing the single.
