Nancy Wilson and Maisie Richardson

Nancy Wilson (jazz singer) was born to Olden Wilson, an ironworker from Chillicothe on the 20th of February, 1937. The mother of her child, Lillian Ryan worked as housekeeper. Nancy was the first of six children. Her father's love of music and his collection of records in the family room were an enormous influence on Nancy at the age of a girl. As young as four, Nancy knew that her future was as a performer. She was able to develop her talents through singing in the church choir. She won a TV-talent show when she 15 and began appearing regularly on the Tv program Skyline Melodies while still in high school. At the age of fifteen, she began her career in night clubs. Nancy at the age of 17, had graduated high school, and then matriculated at Ohio Central State College (now Central State University) for a year before quitting to become a singer. Her first recording was with Rusty's Carolyn Club Big Band in 1956 with whom she performed from 1956 until 1958. In the band, Nancy made her first recording with Dot Records. Cannonball Aderley suggested she relocate in New York so as to improve her career. In 1959 Nancy made the move to The Big Town. The singer was brought in to sing in The Blue Morocco Night Club located in The Bronx, where Adderley's agent had seen her. Agent Adderley signed her to Capitol in 1960. She made her debut that year. Guess Who Saw Today. Capitol issued 5 Nancy Wilson Albums in 2 years. Under Adderley Wilson's direction, she began to focus on R&B however she soon switched to jazz and torch music. Nancy Wilson, Cannonball Adderley together with their 1962 group helped her reach the top. The singer had her breakout smash Tell Me the Truth by 1963. Following that year, she received an invitation to perform at New York's Coconut Grove, the most prestigious night club in America.

Her appearance was in a shorter feature film Americano and Rum as Ellie in the year 2013. She was cast in a small cameo part in the role of Korr Sella in the movie of the year 2015 Short Wars : The Force awakens. Later she starred in the Netflix original film The Kissing Booth Season 2 and 3 as Chloe Winthrop.
