Nancy Wilson is a Grammy Award award-winning jazz musician. Her birth date was 20th February 1937 in Chillicothe OH to Olden Wilson who was a worker at the ironworks as well as Lillian Ryan, a former domestic employee. Nancy Wilson was youngest born child at the age of 6. Her father's love of music as well as the music he played in the family room were an enormous influence on Nancy at the age of a girl. She visited The Big Town, New York in the year 1959. After just a few days, Adderley's manager was impressed by her voice and hired her. In 1960, he signed her to Capitol Records, and that same year she released her first single. Guess Who? Capitol has released five Nancy Wilson albums within two years. After Adderley's influences she shifted her focus her focus from R&B into jazz. Their 1962 collaboration Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley was instrumental in propelling her to the top and her breakthrough song Tell Me the Truth in 1963. It led her to perform at the New York's Coconut Grove the premier night club in America that year, and she became a star.
