Nancy Wilson and Maisie Richardson
Nancy Wilson (jazz singer) was born to Olden Wilson who was an ironworker in Chillicothe on the 20th of February, 1937. The mother of her child, Lillian Ryan worked as a household servant. Nancy was one of six children. The father of Nancy was a fan of music and loved to play records in the family. It had a huge influence on her as a child. At the age of four, Nancy knew her destiny was to be an artist. The talent she had developed was discovered when she sang in the church choir. When she was 15, she won a talent show on TV and was able to regularly appear on the Skyline Melodies Tv Show while being in High School. She began working in nightclubs at the at the same time. Following her graduation from high school the 17-year old Nancy took a class for a semester at the Ohio's Central State College now Central State University before leaving and becoming professional as a musician. In 1956 she released her debut album in Rusty Bryant's Carolyn Club Big Band. They performed together between 1956 and 1958. Nancy began recording for Dot Records in 1956, while with the group. Cannonball Aderley suggested that she relocate into New York so as to enhance her career. In 1959, Nancy moved in The Big Town. In just a few months she had been singing at The Blue Morocco Night Club located on Boston Road near The Bronx. A representative from Adderley's company saw her singing and instantly signed her. Her debut on the recording stage came in 1960 by releasing a single after he obtained the contract with Capitol Records. Guess who? Capitol issued five Nancy Wilson albums within two years. With the help of Adderley's influence the singer-songwriter shifted her focus away from R&B into jazz. Nancy Wilson's collaboration in 1962 with Cannonball Adderley propelled her to the top of the charts, and in 1963 she scored her first success with Tell Me the Truth. The following year, this led to her being invited to New York's Coconut Grove - the top nightclub in America.
Maisie Richardson-Sellers is an British actor and actress in the film and television industry. She was the main character of Chloe Winthrop, in Netflix's film The Kissing Booth.
